Tariffs for USA customers

Writer: AnsonAnson

On February 1st 2025, the US President issued an executive order to increase tariffs for packages and shipments originating from Canada, Mexico and China. This decision will have a noticeable impact for US customers in the foreseeable future.

The previous duty free limit "de minimis" rule of US$800 for packages coming in from out-of-country could be abolished for packages going into the USA from China, and will most likely be true for Canadian packages as well.

If you are a customer from the U.S., here is what you might expect:

  1. You may be required to pay for duties and taxes based on the product being purchased

    1. Maruha products are mostly made in Japan and will likely be exempt

    2. Chikara brand products are made in various countries, including China and Canada and may be subject to 10-25% duties upon receiving

    3. You may be required to pay your State Sales tax and/or local county tax

  2. There may be possible delays as US customs and carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEX etc. sort out new duties and tax collection and processing logistics

We at Chikara Motorsports will do our best to accurately list country of origin, product value and harmonized tax codes to facilitate the smooth delivery of your packages.
