Our Chikara x Wilwood Big Brake kit was designed and built with reliablity and cost savings in mind. With the rising cost and rarity of NA/NB oem sized brake rotors, we decided to build our BBK to use stock ND Miata rotors (non-brembo version). With numerous inexpensive and good quality rotor options, the biggest cost savings is realized.
 
The Wilwood Forged Dynalite Internal Caliper is Wilwood's latest generation caliper with improved strength and corrosion resistance thanks to it's new anodizing technology. Weighing in at only 3lbs each, this caliper will dramatically reduce your NA/NB Miata's unsprung weight. Pedal feel is also matched closely to OEM with a slight increase in firmness. We chose this caliper and our custom bracket design to give the end user a comfortable and confident braking experience.
 
While there are numerous brake pad options for the Wilwood 7112 pad size, we have chosen the Maruha Motors SS27 step 2 pads as the go-to for reliable street and occasional light track use. Special features of this brake pad include less aggressive "bite" that may damage rotors, less brake dust and longer life, and improved brake fade resistance when hot.
