83mm MAHLE Power Piston set for BP engines.
 
One of the original concepts by Maruha. This piston was designed with the M1028 Roadster in mind. The M1028 special version of the NA8 Roadster was only available in Japan and featured a high comp ratio piston to acheive higher power output. However the original piston was cast and not forged. This particular version of 83mm Maruha spec is a direct drop in spec for original 83mm BP blocks. The piston bulb is accurately designed to be compatible with high lift camshafts as well as variable valve timing in the NB2.

MAHLE custom made forged piston (4032 series)
Piston diameter: 82.950 to 82.966mm, set for standard bore.
The piston volume is 9cc, achieving a compression ratio of 10.8.
Considering the valve recess, it is also compatible with VVT cams from NB2.
The piston pin is 20mm and can be used with the genuine connecting rod.

When using a used block, we recommend the roughness of the cylinder inner wall be corrected by honing. Please accurately measure the wear on the block and adjust the clearance.
The clearance should be approximately 5/100mm to 7/100mm.
The limit value is 10/100mm.
